Friday 24th – Sunday 26th February 2023.

Weekend Retreat Tokyo.

Buddhism: Immemorial and Ultra-Modern.

“A dynamic tension of the ancient teachings of Buddhism in modern society – A re-emphasis of the core teachings of the Buddha that can be applied to modern lifestyles and times.”.

Meditation and talks on Buddhism in English. Held in a beautiful countryside house in Kamitaga, Atami City, Shizuoka Prefecture outside of Tokyo.

What happens on retreat?

There will be periods of meditation with English guidance, talks on aspects of Buddhism, as well as Buddhist devotional rituals, called ‘pujas’. There will usually be small groups led by a team member in which you can share your experience of the retreat.

We try to provide a peaceful context that is free from distraction and interruption.

Weekend retreats usually start on Friday night with dinner around 7:00pm, and end on Sunday after lunch, leaving around 3:00pm.

Triratna Tokyo is part of an International Buddhist movement that engages with the Buddha’s teachings in the conditions of the modern world.
